Paramore, Lady Gaga, Eminem Win Big At People's Choice Awards

 

The annual popular culture bash, now in its 36th year, was held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles and featured live performances from Cobra Starship and Mary J Blige.

The biggest musical winner on the night was Lady Gaga with two awards – best pop artist and breakout artist – while Paramore scooped the best rock title.

Eminem was named best hip-hop artist and the best musical collaboration went to Jay-Z, Rihanna, and Kanye West for their joint single 'Run This Town'

Predictably for a public voted awards, Twilight dominated the movie section with three awards - winning Favourite Movie, Franchise and On Screen team.

Paramore Siap Rekaman Album Baru Tahun Depan

 

Grup band asal Amerika Serikat, Paramore mengaku sudah menyiapkan beberapa materi lagu untuk album terbarunya. Mereka pun sudah tak sabar untuk segera masuk studio rekaman.

"Kami sudah membuat empat buah lagu beberapa bulan lalu, dan mungkin kami akan ada di studio rekaman tahun depan," ujar sang gitaris, Taylor York saat ditemui di Nusa Dua Convention Centre, Bali.

Taylor menambahkan, dari empat lagu yang sudah dibuat tersebut, secara musikalitas tak akan banyak mengubah ciri Paramore.

Menjelang konsernya di Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK), Bali pada Rabu (17/8/2011) besok, band pelantun 'The Only Exception' itu ingin terlebih dahulu bersantai menikmati keindahan Pulau Dewata. Menurut pihak promotor ShowMaxx Entertainment, sang vokalis, Hayley Williams ingin mencari batik dan cinderamata lainnya untuk oleh-oleh saat kembali ke Tennesse, Amerika Serikat.

"Mereka memang ingin meluangkan waktu seharian untuk jalan-jalan," ucap Syam Talisman.

Paramore juga akan menjanjikan penampilan terbaik mereka saat konser yang digelar bertepatan dengan hari kemerdekaan Indonesia yang ke-66 itu. "Pokoknya kami akan memainkan semua lagu dari album-album kami. Mungkin sekitar 15 sampai 18 lagu," tandas Taylor.
